Circular home screens
v0.9.7Swipe past your last home screen and the first one comes back in, tracking your finger. There is no dead end and no scrolling back the way you came.
- Settings → Home screen → Loop home screens
How the wrap feels
Home screen pages form a ring. Swipe past the last page and the first page slides in from the right, tracking your finger. Swipe past the first page and the last one slides in from the left.
Looping is on by default. Turn it off in Settings → Home screen → Loop home screens and the last page becomes a dead end again.
The page coming in is live, not a frozen snapshot — a widget on it keeps updating mid-wrap.
Under the hood
The mechanism is called “ghost translation.” While armed, the scroll container’s clamp widens by one page stride at each end. The wrap-target page gets a temporary offset that positions it in that extra space, so it renders as a real, live view — which is why a widget keeps updating mid-wrap. On settle, the offset clears and the scroll resets in the same draw pass.
Limits
Paging stays linear during drag-and-drop, so the trailing blank page that creates a new home screen stays reachable. The page indicator holds during a wrap rather than jumping, and two-panel layouts (the side-by-side home screen on tablets and unfolded foldables) and accessibility scroll actions stay linear.
